What does Friendship do in YAZS?
A permanent, account-side reward for mission completion — with one number the public record simply does not contain.
Quick Answer
Friendship is earned by completing missions, and it permanently increases the Cash and Specialization points you receive at the end of each run. Missions come from the Briefing Room in the Camp, where one waits after every run, drawn from 15 Main Story, 45 Survivor and 19 Repeatable quests. The developer states what Friendship boosts twice in the 1.0 changelog and never states by how much, so no figure appears on this page.
Steps
- Finish a run, then enter the Camp and visit the Briefing Room; a mission will be waiting.
- Complete that mission's objective during a subsequent run.
- Collect the Friendship reward, which then applies to the Cash and Specialization points on every future end-of-run screen.
- If a mission was missed or failed, open the Mission Log in the same room and retry it manually instead of waiting for it to come round again.
Requirements / Limits
- Friendship arrived with version 1.0 and does not exist on older builds.
- It is earned from missions specifically, not from finishing runs. Runs already grant XP toward the skill trees, which is a different system.
- The magnitude of the bonus is not published anywhere. Neither is a cap, and the 19 Repeatable missions make the cap question a real one.
- The end-of-run screen was reworked in 1.0, and a bug that mis-displayed Cash and Specialization gains when max rank was reached in the same run was fixed in that release.
Common Mistakes
- Expecting Friendship to affect a run in progress. It changes what you receive at the end.
- Confusing it with the permanent upgrade trees, which are bought with points from survivor levels.
- Skipping the Camp with Quick Run and then wondering why no Friendship accrues.
- Repeating a bonus percentage seen in a community post. No first-party figure exists to check it against.
