How do I start a run without going through the Camp?
The Camp is new in 1.0, and the developer shipped two ways to route around it.
Quick Answer
Use Quick Run in the main menu to start playing immediately instead of routing through the Camp. The developer added it in 1.0 specifically to reduce friction, alongside a separate toggle that restores all the old menu options. Note that the Camp's Briefing Room is where a narrative mission waits after every run, so the two routes are not equivalent in what they put in front of you.
Steps
- Open the main menu.
- Choose Quick Run to start playing immediately.
- If you want the previous menu structure back, turn on the toggle the developer describes as restoring all the old menu options.
- Visit the Camp deliberately when you want the Briefing Room, rather than relying on the menu to route you there.
Requirements / Limits
- Both options arrive with 1.0. Neither exists in an earlier build.
- The developer's stated purpose is friction reduction, and the restore toggle is described as a single switch, not a per-option settings list.
- The developer states that in the Camp's Briefing Room a narrative mission will be waiting after every run. No source states what happens to that pickup if you use Quick Run instead.
- No source states which settings tab holds the restore toggle.
Common Mistakes
- Assuming the Camp is mandatory in 1.0 because every 1.0 announcement leads with it.
- Using Quick Run exclusively and then treating slow story progress as a bug. The Briefing Room is a Camp location.
- Looking for either option on a pre-1.0 build.
- Expecting the restore toggle to remove the Camp. The developer describes it as restoring menu options, not as disabling the hub.
